Sandy would love to meet any future canine companions before they decide to live together. KNOWN WITH CATS: We do not currently know how Sandy is with cats. If that is needed, let us know and we'll work on getting that information! KNOWN WITH KIDS: Sandy feels more confident with other children and adults. KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit, Down, Wait, Shake, Place, Heel (meaning Sit by your left side on walks). KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING/OR CRATING: Sandy was crate-trained in a previous home. KNOWN LIKES: Belly rubs, dogs, treats, training, and walks. Sandy loves to play in water! KNOWN DISLIKES: Sandy can get stressed out around younger children, and would prefer a home with older kids or adults. She is also a Master Food Finder and gets frustrated when there is food on the tables and counters that she can't have. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Sandy was found as a stray by one of our rural shelter partners. Like so many poodle mixes, she is a very smart cookie, and she is looking for a home where her family can offer her lots of opportunities to use her busy brain, from exercise to enrichment, training sessions and playdates with appropriate dog friends. Sandy learned a lot of fun cues in a previous home, including Shake (so cute!) and Place, and she even has a bed to come with her where she can show off her great Place cue. In her future home, she'd love to continue her work on her impulse control as part of her training and enrichment. This exuberant adolescent loves playing tug-of-war and belly rubs, and would love a home with lots of space to run around and enjoy herself.
