At 7 years old and around 90 pounds, Dollie came to us after spending her life as a puppy mill breeding dog. After years of giving to others, it is finally her turn to be loved, spoiled, and cherished in a home of her own. Dollie is a calm, low-energy girl who truly enjoys the simple things in life. Her favorite place is curled up on a cozy couch or dog bed, soaking up pets and affection from her people. You can tell that comfort and love are things she didn’t experience much before, and watching her enjoy them now is incredibly special. She would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, as she loves being near her humans and feeling included. She is potty trained and has had no accidents in her foster home. While she hasn’t been crate trained because someone is usually home, she does wonderfully with free roam and has great house manners. Dollie also walks nicely on leash and does not pull, but she prefers shorter, leisurely strolls rather than long walks. Dollie is dog friendly and currently lives with a medium sized female dog. She doesn’t play much, but she happily coexists with other calm dogs. She is very gentle with people of all ages, though a quieter home with older children (10+) would be best since she would prefer not to be chased or around a lot of loud activity. After the life she has had, she truly deserves a peaceful home where she can relax and feel safe. One thing to know about this big girl is that if food is left on the counter, she might help herself — being tall definitely has its perks! But otherwise, Dollie is simply a loving, mellow companion who wants nothing more than soft places to rest and people to adore. Dollie has spent the first seven years of her life giving everything she had. Now it is her turn to receive all the love, comfort, and warmth a family can offer.
