He currently sleeps right next to his foster’s bed because he feels safest when he can see his humans nearby. In his foster home, Frankie lives with three other dogs and has shown he is a total social butterfly with other pups. He especially loves playing with his friend Riesling (a female Shih Tzu). His playstyle is gentle and social; he prefers the company of other dogs over playing with toys. He tends to lean toward female dogs for comfort and confidence. Having another dog in the home is a must for him. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially men but will warm up quickly if you offer him a treat. Frankie is already house trained and knows how to use a screen door to let himself out. Like many small dogs in new environments, he is still perfecting his manners and wears a belly band when his fosters are away. He is a quick learner who responds well to treats and to corrections when you call his name. This little guy doesn't need much to be happy—just a soft spot to land, a canine buddy to hang out with, and a family who will give him the patience he needs to feel secure.
