Norma was found in a remote area in rural Georgia, heavily pregnant, dumped alongside two other dogs like she meant nothing. The humans who should have protected her abandoned her with no food and no safety, but she was carrying the lives of her unborn puppies, so she was determined to survive. All alone in the woods in the dead of winter, Norma gave birth to 12 babies and unfortunately four did not survive. When one of our rescue partners came across her and her survivng eight babies, they immediately took them all into safety, determined to give them the second chance they were in dire need of. Despite the hunger, the fear, and being let down by people, Norma's spirit never broke. She still chooses love, she still looks at humans with gentle eyes and a trusting heart. Dogs like Norma remind us of something powerful — even when the world is cruel to them, their capacity to forgive and trust remains. Norma deserved better from the start.
