Meet Gemma! Gemma is a 20 month old Chihuahua mix who is an energetic, healthy, and smart girl. She weighs 18 lbs. This little girl is house trained and uses a doggy door. She is also crate trained, walks great on a leash and rides well in a car. Gemma attended basic core (sit, down, come, leave it, place) training classes at United Animal Friends. Despite having a lot of energy, she is good at relaxing and sleeps in her crate quietly up to 10 hours at night. She also loves being outside soaking up the sun on nice days. Gemma is good with both male and female adults. It is unknown how she is with infants or children. Gemma is dominant with dogs her size or smaller and older. A home with no other dogs or a slightly larger playful and energetic male dog would be best for Gemma. She does exhibit resource guarding when given treats, but is fine during meal time. Gemma also has a strong prey drive towards outdoor critters. Gemma's perfect match would be an active adult who loves hiking, adventures, and spending time outdoors with their dog by their side.
