Location: Big Lake, MN Newman is an energetic young pup. He is husky mix. He was dropped off at a home on a Reservation of someone who partners with the Rescue Network. He was transported to Minnesota where he is being fostered in a home with two dogs and a cat! His foster home has been loving getting to know him. He is a playful, curious boy like any typical puppy. He has been good with the foster's resident dogs. Loves to play and is still learning boundaries because he young and has so much energy. He would do great in a home with other dogs to help wear him out. He is getting exposure to the foster's cat. So far, he barks at her and is not sure what to think. If there is a cat in the home he will need slow introductions and patience to ensure the relationship can be successful. Training has been going very well. He is eager to learn and will need to go to a home that will be patient and consistent. Though it takes time, he is catching on quick! Potty training has been going well. He goes outside and on the potty pad though still has accidents on the floor. I do not think it will take long for him to fully start going outside as he gets older and gains more control of his bladder. We are also working with him on basic commands. He knows how to sit and his recall has been good with the reward of treats. Kennel training is a work in progress. We are hoping to see some improvement with time. Overall, with good structure and an active owner, Newman will thrive and be a great addition to the family. He is so sweet and cute as can be. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
