About Honey

** This is an Out Of Town listing. We transport to the city on this listing. Please apply at www.bit.ly/mu-adopt ** Meet Honey! True to her name, Honey is the kind of dog who makes life feel a little sweeter. At just 1.5 years old, she has the perfect balance of youthful energy and growing maturity. She’s past the tiny puppy chaos, but still full of playful spirit, curiosity, and enthusiasm for life. Honey is good with other playful submissive pups. It just needs to be the right fit. When it is, she loves to romp and roam around with her canine pals! She’s also perfectly fine sharing her home with cats. Just please, no chickens. ;) Because she’s still a young girl at heart, Honey enjoys stretching her legs and playing hard. A fenced backyard where she can zoom, play, and soak up the sunshine would make her very happy. When it’s time to play, she isn’t picky — ropes, interactive toys, Nyla Bones, Kongs, Benebones… if it’s a toy, Honey is ready for the challenge! She’s also a wonderful adventure buddy. Car ride? Yes please. A walk in the park? Even better. Honey loves being part of the fun and tagging along wherever her people go. Honey is a medium/large girl at about 50 pounds and she’s got the house manners to match her good looks. She’s crate trained, house trained, and even knows how to use a doggie door like a pro. There is one important thing to know about this sweet girl: Honey is more comfortable with women than men at first. She can absolutely learn to trust a dog-loving man (especially if treats are involved), but she needs patience and a little time to warm up. Because of this, adopters should be mindful when out in public — Honey may be wary of unfamiliar men until she gets to know them. Once she trusts someone, though, her loving personality truly shines. Honey has lived in a home with kids, but again, due to her timid nature around men, a home with a bunch of teenage boys in and out would probably be too much for her. The right home for Honey will be one that appreciates her sensitive heart, her playful spirit, and the beautiful dog she is continuing to become. Rescue dogs like Honey have a way of changing lives — theirs and yours. When you open your home to a dog in need, you’re not just giving them safety and love… you gain a loyal companion who will spend every day reminding you that you were the hero of their story. Honey is ready to make someone’s life a whole lot sweeter.
