About Cali
Meet CALI! Cali is 20 lbs and ~6 months old as of March 13, 2026! We think he’s a Lab/shepherd mix although like any Puerto Rican Sato, has a mix of breeds! Cali is SUCH a wonderful dog. He was rescued by a trusted independent rescuer we work who picked him up off the street after she saw he was recently dumped by his family. Cali a gentle, affectionate little boy who LOVES people! When he sees you, he happily rolls onto his back asking for belly rubs. He's a lover. He truly enjoys human companionship and we have found he adapts quickly to new environments. He took his vet visit in stride and has been thriving in his foster home in Puerto Rico...after all, he's used to being in a home! He gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and loves running and playing in the yard with his foster siblings. While young, Calypso is a medium-energy puppy who enjoys playtime but also loves to chill! He has a very balanced personality. Please have a look at the videos we have included in his posting as you will get a sense of his sweet, gentle personality. He enjoys toys and treats, which makes him very motivated and extra eager to learn during training. He’s smart! Cali is in desperate need of a foster (or adopter!) along the East Coast! We would love to fly him Stateside in cabin (NOT cargo) asap. Please note that we do adopt out of state, as long as you are willing to come pick up your dog if he/she is already stateside with a foster! We just want the best fit homes for our dogs. Cali is neutered, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and ready to find his forever family! Please feel free to email us with any questions about him! See below for application info. The best fit for the dog is our priority. Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment are the most important things in caring for a dog. In addition, we cannot guarantee breed of any dog, exact age or expected adult size of a puppy. Please note that even house-trained dogs will need help transitioning to an adopter's home and schedule. Thank you for understanding.
