Muppet is a 3.5-month-old Shih Tzu mix, possibly with a little Yorkie sprinkled in for extra flair. At just 3.5 pounds, she is a tiny puff of personality with floppy fluffy ears, a little dust-buster tail, and a face that looks like she wandered straight out of Jim Henson's creature shop. This spunky little fluff ball is happy, playful, and already a big fan of fetch. She is full of puppy energy and charm, but because she is so very small and fragile, she needs a home that understands just how delicate a puppy her size can be. She could easily be stepped on, sat on, or overwhelmed by rambunctious children, so adopters will need to keep that in mind. Muppet came to us because her previous owners were struggling with potty training, so she will need a dedicated adopter who is ready to be patient, consistent, and committed to helping her learn. She is still just a baby and will need guidance as she continues working on her house training. Because Muppet will require regular grooming throughout her life, adopters must provide a groomer's reference as part of the application process. We are looking for a local foster-to-adopt home only for Muppet, as we want to wait until she is a little bigger before she is spayed. Applicants must live in Effingham County or the surrounding area. In addition, all other pets in the home must be spayed or neutered, current on yearly vaccines, and dogs must be on heartworm prevention in order to be approved. Muppet is sure to get a lot of attention, but there is only one Muppet, and we are committed to finding her the perfect match.
