Monte is a young male Mastiff with an extra-large build and resides in Glendale, AZ. He is neutered and has his vaccinations up to date. Monte gets along with dogs and children, and he's looking for an experienced owner familiar with large breeds who can help him continue to build confidence.

About Monte

Monte landed in the shelter in San Bernardino with his brother Mojo after being picked up as strays. Both struggled with pneumonia and cherry eye, a condition that’s often overlooked because of surgical costs, making their odds of rescue slim. Monte was one of the lucky ones—he pulled through, and now he’s healthy, spirited, and prepping for his surgery. With new leash on life, Monte is eager to find his permanent home. Big, sweet, and loyal, Monte thrives on long walks and soaking up affection from his people. He gets along well in small playgroups, especially with female dogs, but needs someone who understands the temperament and requirements of large, powerful breeds. Monte is still a bit under-socialized, so he’ll need ongoing encouragement to explore the world with positive new experiences. He’s about 1½ to 2 years old and, in the right hands, is ready to become a remarkable companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
