Meet Phoenix! True to his name, Phoenix is a beautiful example of resilience and second chances. This 5-year-old poodle mix came from a local cruelty case; he spent much of his life confined to a kennel, severely matted and starving. Despite everything he’s been through, Phoenix’s heart is still full of love. Phoenix adores people and bonds deeply with his person—once he chooses you, he’s your loyal little shadow. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is completely unbothered by cats, and takes comfort in gentle companionship. Because of his past, Phoenix is still working on housebreaking, and he experiences significant anxiety around crates. He would thrive in a patient, understanding home where a kennel isn’t required and where he can continue learning what safety and love feel like at his own pace. Phoenix doesn’t need perfection—he needs kindness, consistency, and someone willing to meet him where he is. In return, he’ll give you unwavering devotion and a love that’s been waiting far too long to be returned. Phoenix is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, on monthly prevention and is scheduled to be neutered and have his teeth cleaned on 3/24.
