“Desiring peace” is what my name Wilfred means. I guess that suits me to a “T”! I am a very laid-back young adult fellow who is content to relax or observe while sitting near people. I came to Paws and Claws from a rescue partner, and although I was hesitant to leave my transport kennel and settle nervously into a new one, I did eventually settle in rather warily, but mostly relaxed. I accepted petting with a metal “hand” after some sniffing. I was nervous about that! After a short time, I became tense and hissy. I am usually a friendly boy who was called “socially sensitive” – hesitant at first, moving away or hiding if approached too quickly. I recover from stress slowly and need time and space to decompress. I will do best in a calm, quiet home where I can adjust at my own pace. Some cats take more time to adapt to new places and new people. I seem to be one of those cats. If you’re patient with me, the part of me that wants to accept love and affection will come out.
