Polly has the sweetest little face and the kind of eyes that quietly ask for love. Once you meet her, it’s hard not to want to help her feel safe and happy. This 8-month-old shepherd mix came to us as a stray along with another dog who appears to be her best friend. Sadly, no one ever came looking for them. Polly arrived very scared and unsure of her surroundings, but little by little she has started to come out of her shell. As she gets more comfortable, Polly shows just how sweet she really is. She enjoys gentle attention and will happily soak up pets once she feels safe with you. She’s the kind of dog who will bond closely with her people and become a loyal best friend. Polly will need a family willing to give her a little time and patience while she learns to trust again. With kindness and consistency, she will blossom into a wonderful companion. At around 45 pounds and still growing, Polly is a great medium-large size — big enough for adventures but not expected to be huge.
