Fred
AvailableFred is a neutered male Maine Coon mix considered extra-large for a cat. He’s house trained, vaccinated, and currently living with FIV, which simply means he needs regular indoor care. Fred is located in Leon, KS, and has grown from under 10 lbs to nearly 19 lbs.
About Fred
Fred showed up as a small stray, barely 10 lbs at the time, but he's now grown to almost 19 lbs. After his rescue, Fred was neutered, got his vaccines, and had routine health checks. During this process, the vet discovered Fred is FIV positive. Despite the intimidating name, FIV only affects cats and does not transfer to people or other pets. It’s typically passed through deep bite wounds, but not through regular cat socializing—so sharing food, grooming, or a litter box isn’t dangerous with friendly cats. Fred can live a happy, healthy life indoors with routine vet care. He gets along with other cats and is as loving, playful, and deserving as any other companion. He can’t go to a home with dogs, but for a family seeking a mellow, social cat, Fred is waiting in Leon, KS. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
