Meet Scrappy Scrappy is a 6-year-old Chihuahua who was surrendered when his previous owner could no longer afford his care or find the time he needed. Despite the big life change, Scrappy has been making wonderful progress while adjusting to the shelter environment. According to his previous owner, Scrappy has been friendly with most dogs and great with kids. He hasn't been around cats before, so slow introductions would be recommended if there are feline friends in the home. When Scrappy first arrived, the shelter environment was overwhelming for him, but thanks to the patience and dedication of our volunteers, he has improved tremendously. He's now easy to leash and allows handling, showing how much he's learning to trust again. Scrappy still has a few sensitive spots-nail trims aren't his favorite, and he may get snappy when his nails are being cut-but with continued patience and gentle care, he'll keep building confidence. This little guy has already come a long way and is ready for a home where he can continue to thrive. With love, consistency, and understanding, Scrappy will make a loyal and spirited companion.
