Sweet Nyla is a tiny 7-year-old Beagle mix who weighs about 18 pounds. She is spayed, vetted and ready for her forever home. This happy girl is full of personality and loves attention. Nyla came to us as a devoted mama who raised four puppies. Now that her puppies have been adopted, it’s her turn to begin a new life in a home of her own. Nyla is energetic, playful, and loves to engage with her people. Being around humans is her favorite thing and she thrives when someone is home most of the time. She can have a bit of anxiety and does best with a calm environment. Nyla is a wonderful companion. She’s housetrained with a consistent routine, sleeps quietly through the night (curled up in bed with her human!), and will happily keep an eye on the neighborhood—yes, that includes some classic Beagle "commentary". Nyla loves toys—especially tug toys. She walks beautifully on a leash, loves snacks, and enjoys taking her time to sniff and explore. Nyla does well with other dogs, she’s polite and comfortable saying hello before moving on. She seems to be fine with cats; she showed little interest when passing by them at the shelter. If there are children in Nyla’s new home it would be best if they are older kids who understand dogs, as she can be a bit sensitive about being picked up. She’s perfectly fine with handling when given a gentle head’s up—and honestly, she mostly just wants attention and affection. Nyla is looking for a home with a yard; a fenced yard is preferred.
