Meet Cheddar, a striking orange tomcat with bright green eyes and a personality as big as his heart. This handsome boy loves people and happily greets everyone he meets — kids included! Cheddar was rescued from an overcrowded apartment complex where the cats weren’t safe or welcome. After surviving life on the streets, he’s more than ready to trade hardship for a warm, loving home where he can be safe, comfortable, and completely spoiled. Even though he’s all grown up, Cheddar still has plenty of playful kitten energy. He absolutely loves chasing fishing pole toys and will leap and pounce with impressive enthusiasm. When he gets excited he can play a little rough, so he would do best with older children or adults who understand his spirited, energetic style of play. Cheddar is an active and athletic cat who thrives when he has enrichment and things to do. He would love a home filled with toys, sturdy cat furniture, and maybe even a catio where he can safely enjoy the outdoors. A tall cat tower would be a dream come true — perfect for climbing, stretching, and keeping those claws in top condition. Affection is one of Cheddar’s favorite things. He’ll eagerly head-butt you for attention and does the cutest little flop onto his side when he wants pets. He enjoys being close to his people, rubbing against your legs and purring happily. In the evenings, he’s perfectly content curling up beside you on the couch while you relax together. Cheddar isn’t a fan of dogs that rush up to him and may swat if he feels challenged. He’s a confident, alpha-type cat who doesn’t appreciate dominant male cats, though he may do well with younger males or kittens. He hasn’t yet been tested with female cats.
