Meet Wesley, a sweet senior Shih Tzu with a gentle spirit and a heart full of love. This affectionate “velcro dog” loves being near his people and will happily follow you from room to room just to keep you company. Thought to be around 11 years old, Wesley is completely house trained and will politely paw at you or scratch at the door when he needs to go outside. Though he’s partially blind and a little hard of hearing, he gets around well and approaches life with a trusting, easygoing attitude. Wesley has wonderful house manners and does not need a crate—he actually dislikes them—but he behaves very well when left alone. He’s happiest relaxing in a cozy bed on the floor, often with a favorite stuffed toy he likes to gently carry around and cuddle. He enjoys being outside, especially rolling in the grass on warmer days, and on walks he’s curious about the world (and the occasional squirrel!). He knows “sit,” loves his meals and snack times, and especially enjoys back, chin, and ear scratches. This loving boy gets along nicely with other dogs and may enjoy having a calm canine companion, as he likes to nap beside his foster siblings when his people are away. Wesley is friendly with everyone he meets and has a quiet nature, rarely barking except to remind you if dinner is taking too long. With his sweet personality and loyal heart, Wesley is simply looking for a peaceful home where he can stay close to his people and enjoy his golden years surrounded by love.
