Pemi has her own IG account!! @Fosterdogtailz Meet Pemi - A smart, goofy shepherd mix whose favorite move when meeting new people is the tuck and roll so that she can get more pets all over! Be careful, she will do this even on a snowy sidewalk! Pemi was adopted as a puppy from PAWS and had a family who loved her. As their family grew, it was discovered that Pemi would do better without young children and her family chose to have her come back to PAWS so that she could be set up with a better fit for her forever home. Pemi went through an evaluation period and training sessions and absolutely shined. She has been settled in with her foster family, who absolutely adore her. Pemi is a very loving dog and will follow her foster mom around the house with a wagging tail, but is also content to relax on her own and has no issues with separation anxiety. She is crate trained and hangs out comfortably while her foster mom is at work. She is also just as happy to lounge on the couch and people-watch out the window. Pemi is incredibly smart and one of the most well-trained dogs you will encounter! Her foster mom taught her a new trick in 1 session! She loves to learn and is eager to do things right. Pemi's love language definitely includes food, but she also enjoys her words of affirmation (a "good job" gets her pretty excited). In terms of temperament, Pemi is truly the best of both worlds. She loves to go out for long walks and hikes, and has excellent leash skills (the easiest dog her foster mom has ever walked!), but she is also happy to hang at home and occupy herself with a toy. She makes for a great pillow if you need somewhere to rest your head, and she doesn't mind sharing the blanket (although she does request you keep her cuddled up in the winter, her short fur doesn't help much in these blizzards!). Pemi didn't grow up with dogs and would do better as either the only dog in the home or with an older, calm dog. On walks, Pemi gets to show off her good behavior as she passes by reactive dogs, needing only the occasional treat or command to keep moving. She would rather not have to deal with those types of dogs in her own home and instead would love to spend her time cuddling with her humans.
