About Luna

**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics. MEET LUNA! Luna is an 11 lb min pin, around five years old. She takes a bit of time to get used to new people, other dogs, and her environment. On first meeting she may seem defensive, but that passes quickly as she adjusts to the situation. She's quick to seek out safe spaces when she feels uneasy, especially around sudden movement or loud noises. Once she feels at ease, she becomes incredibly devoted and will want to be close at all the time. She's a lively dog and often dances on her hind legs for meals and treats, or to just to get attention. She's a funny character and is sure to bring on some laughter. She also loves to relax and cuddle up next to her person. This little girl is smart and learns quickly, and treats are a great way to help her learn new things. Her favorite toys are soft, plush ones. She's not a big fan of squeaky ones. Luna is pretty good on a leash, but sometimes gets excited and wants to pull. She's very comfortable and secure in her crate. She gets a bit chilly in cold weather, so a warm, cozy jacket or sweater is a must. She needs to go out for potty regularly and is pretty good at letting you know by insisting on your attention. She is fairly well house trained but If other dogs have had accidents in an area, she wants to claim that territory. This habit does pass when she adjusts to her surroundings and housemates. She's also trained to go on a pad if she can't get outside when she needs to. She is around 5 years old. Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
