Thankfully, MCAS stepped in to help me, and Sheltering Hands showed me what real comfort feels like — soft blankets, full bowls, gentle voices, and caring hands. For the first time in my life, I understood what it means to belong. I didn’t have to watch the world from a parking lot anymore. I could finally rest. I am a very food-motivated girl and I never take a good meal for granted. Treats are a treasure to me. But even more than food, I love people. I love being held, petted, and doted on. I lean in close when you talk to me. I soak up reassurance. Tell me I’m beautiful and that I’m a good girl, and I will give you the softest look and the gentlest purr.
