Sparrow came to the rescue severely underweight; he was barely thirty pounds when a healthy dog of his breed should have been double that. He had open wounds where his bones pressed against his skin, a clear sign of the neglect he endured. A concerned passerby surrendered him after finding Sparrow wandering in the road.
