Sun is an absolutely gorgeous girl who came to the shelter after her owner sadly passed away. Understandably, she can be a little nervous at first and may tuck herself under a bed or in a closet while she settles in. But once she spots you, she quickly comes out and is ready for love and attention. In her foster home, Sun has shown just how affectionate she can be—she’s even sought out pets from the 6-year-old in the home! While she’s gentle and sweet, sudden or loud kid noises can still make her retreat to a hiding spot, so a calmer environment where she can feel secure will help her thrive. Sun also has a playful side and enjoys chasing a wand toy when the mood strikes. Since arriving at HSPPR, Sun has needed a little extra support with her appetite. We believe we’ve found a food combination she enjoys, but her new family will need to monitor her eating closely and plan for follow-up care with their primary veterinarian. She also recently had a dental procedure where five unhealthy teeth were removed, and she’s already feeling much better. With patience, love, and a watchful eye on her health, Sun will make a wonderfully devoted companion who will brighten her new home. I’m currently in a loving foster home offsite! Inquiries are answered in the order received, and the foster parent will let you know your place in line if there are other interested adopters. A meet-and-greet is required before adoption. Adopters should be available to meet within 48 hours of inquiring; otherwise, preference may be given to the next person in line who can meet sooner. For everyone’s safety, current pets are not able to meet the foster animal before adoption. After the meet-and-greet, you will have 24 hours to visit the HSPPR Adoptions Lobby (11:00am–4:30pm) to complete paperwork and finalize the adoption.
