About Lavendercuddlebug!

Lavender is being fostered in PA. Lavender spent her first 2+ years either on the streets of Texas or tied outside with no protection from other dogs and has the scars to prove it. She is an extremely special girl who spent her first two years (after being rescued, spayed and treated successfully for heartworm) with an amazing senior Mom. The two of them were so bonded that she accompanied her mom into a senior living facility and continued to be treated like the queen she should have always been treated like with all members in the home spoiling her daily. Lavender was able to visit family regularly, going with her mom over holidays and for family dinners. She even made a trip to the beach and was the perfect girl on the trip. Unfortunately, her mom passed away recently and Lavender is now back in her original foster home. This sweet girl deserves a forever home where she can get tons of attention again. She loves to cuddle and enjoys being on the sofa with her person. She has so many amazing qualities such as being completely house trained and having amazing house manners. She loves people of all ages but can be timid of some men but has never done more than growl at the occasional man until she warms up on her own terms. Lavender is completely blind, having no eyes, and is not in need of any medications. She rides very well in the car but is timid getting into the car and needs to be lifted. She loves being outside but tends to want to follow her own agenda when walking. She can back out of her harness like a pro so another type of leash is being tried on her for that rare occasion she wants to back away. Lavender knows her name and comes very well when called. Lavender’s past owner indicated that she loves other dogs and is good with cats but she was startled by the bigger male dog in her foster home the first day she was there and she has never warmed all the way back up to her foster brother. It is not known if she would react to all large male dogs like this or just this one who startled her. Lavender’s foster home also consists of several dogs smaller than her, from super seniors to very young dogs with high energy levels and she is super with them all. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
