Say hello to Pixie, a sweet and sassy little hound/lab mix girl weighing about 13.5 pounds who has a beautiful cinnamon-colored coat, a striking black muzzle, and white stocking legs that make her absolutely irresistible. One look at her precious face and it’s easy to see how she could melt even the toughest heart. Pixie is the perfect mix of gentle sweetness and playful sass. Born in mid December, Pixie is a world-class snuggler who loves curling up for naps with her people. She enjoys playing when you engage with her, but she’s also perfectly happy entertaining herself with her toys. She has a soft and thoughtful side too—new things can make her a little shy at first—but she’s gaining confidence every day and continues to blossom. Pixie loves to play! She is the reigning queen of the sneak attack when playing with her brother. At mealtime she’s a perfect lady, sitting patiently while you prepare her food and eating enthusiastically with the sweetest, gentlest manners. Pixie is currently working on her potty training. She willingly goes into her crate and will sleep there, though she’d much rather snuggle up next to you in bed (she may have been a little spoiled!). She sleeps through the night, can jump onto the couch, and confidently goes up and down stairs—even using stairs to climb onto the bed. This smart little girl is also incredibly intelligent and curious. She quickly figures out treat puzzles and is quite the problem solver when she misplaces her favorite toy. Pixie loves meeting new people and will happily run over to greet visitors. She hasn’t had the chance to meet dogs outside of her brother yet, and while she hasn’t met cats, she does seem interested in watching outdoor critters through the window. Pixie has a fair amount of puppy energy when she’s awake and playing, so she would thrive in a home with a larger fenced yard where she can run and burn off energy. Because of this, apartment living may not be the best fit unless her adopter can provide plenty of walks and exercise.
