About Flannel
Flannel’s a small Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix with plenty of personality, shaped by a rough start abandoned in a crate on a hot San Francisco street. He was scared, defensive, and in pain, but after rescue and time with his foster dad, he’s found his sweet side. These days, Flannel’s happiest curled up on a blanket or snuggled close, preferring the couch life over adventurous outings. He adores his foster dad and picks a favorite spot, but gets along with the pack—including other small dogs, the resident cat, and even tries to boss around the big dog. He’s food motivated, loves treats, and is a vocal little guy—especially when someone leaves the house. Flannel needs patience and structure for house training, currently sporting a belly band and not shy about marking. He’s also particular about being handled: he doesn’t like surprises and has bitten when startled or picked up unexpectedly, so he’s not a match for homes with young children. An adopter familiar with small dog signals and willing to give him space when he asks for it will make the best companion. Despite some quirks, Flannel is affectionate, full of character, and more at ease with routine and consistency. He’d make a loyal traveling buddy, just best in a carrier for car rides. Flannel’s not looking for perfect—he wants someone warm, steady, and willing to embrace his spunky ways. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Flannel
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Flannel, as a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, does best in a stable home where he can have close contact with his person and a comfy spot to rest. His small size and temperament make him ideal for an apartment or house as long as he gets plenty of affection.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This mix doesn't need a large yard. Flannel will benefit from short walks and a safe, contained outdoor space for exploring, but he's happiest when he's inside, close to his human.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Flannel is not suited for homes with young children. Both Chihuahuas and Pomeranians can be sensitive and may react negatively to unpredictable handling, which fits Flannel's personality.
