She originally arrived with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on the November 15 Georgia transport after being surrendered by her previous owner. She was adopted shortly after arriving in Wisconsin but was recently surrendered back when it became clear she wasn’t the right fit for that home. Her adopter had health issues that made it difficult to take her on walks, and Dorothy does best with a bit of structure and support as she settles in. Dorothy is now in a foster home with Mutt Life Dog Rescue and is doing very well. She may start off shy in a new environment, but within a few days she opens up and becomes playful, affectionate, and very snuggly. She loves cozying up in fuzzy blankets, relaxing on the couch, or sleeping in bed with her people. She sleeps through the night quietly and has done well when left home alone, resting calmly in her crate. Dorothy also rides well in the car and loves going for rides. She would do best in a quiet home with another dog, as having canine companions helps her feel more confident. She enjoys playing with other dogs, getting a little goofy during playtime, and running around the backyard. She is also food motivated and eager to learn. Dorothy has been doing well going potty outside but may need a day or two to adjust to a new routine. She walks well on a leash, does well with dogs and cats, and has not been around children in foster care. Due to her timid nature, she would likely be scared of young or very energetic kids.
