About Chewey Trained Dog
Clay is a quiet, affectionate schnoodle mix who has been through a lot. He arrived as a severely matted, emaciated stray from Miami's Redlands farm area but has bounced back with dedicated care. Clay likes people and builds trust steadily—he loves companionship and bonds closely with his trainers and the men in his foster environment. Dogs are fine with him too, especially a playful female or a tolerant male, but he seems happiest around people. Older children or teens could be a good fit; toddlers are not recommended simply because his history is unclear. At times, Clay is sensitive to unexpected touches on his rump, likely a remnant from painful matting, but with trust, he relaxes completely. He’s obedient, naturally quiet, and really gets into a game of fetch. An adult-only, active home would suit him best. Clay is wrapping up a specialized prison training program in Miami where he’s learning advanced obedience and fun skills. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Chewey Trained Dog
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Clay, being a Standard Poodle/Schnauzer mix, adapts well to homes where he gets regular engagement and companionship. These breeds tend to thrive in environments where there's room to play and a consistent routine, making both apartments and houses with yards suitable if walks and activities are part of the daily schedule.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
As a Standard Poodle and Schnauzer mix, Clay benefits from daily outdoor time for exercise, though a large yard isn't necessary if he gets enough walks and play sessions. He does well with moderate access to the outdoors to burn off energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Clay's breeds are generally good with children, especially older kids who know how to interact respectfully. Since he's sensitive to sudden touches and best with older kids, Clay would likely thrive in a home without very young children.
