About Ziggy Zip

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Ziggy Zip's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Ziggy Zip, a 2-month-old Husky mix who is also mixed with a multitude of amazing breeds making him the Perfect American mutt! He weighs 16 pounds (as of 3/7/26). This scruff ball and his sister, Zelda, are known as the ZIPS from Tennessee! Sadly, they were found by a coroner when their owner passed away. While their mom was adopted by someone else, these pups were rescued in order to find a new fur-ever home. Growing up, Ziggy and his sister didn't have much human interaction so they are slowly coming out of their shell through the help of their amazing foster. Hopefully you can help these playful pups to bloom! Ziggy is very gentle with a sweet personality who'll immediately keep you calm on those days you want to just pull your hair out from everything going on in your life. So breathe in and breathe out and take some time to cuddle with him! While Ziggy can be slow to warm up when he first meets you, once he's comfortable with you, he loves to be loved on. He almost always has a toy in his mouth and is never far from his sister. Ziggy has lived with other dogs, and while he likes children, he's still generally suspicious of kids. The poor boy can't help it! He's a scaredy cat! (No offense to cats, who he's also suspicious of). But he hopes one day he can move past his fears with the right family by his side. The Zip siblings are both catching on to house training but are struggling with the leash. They hope their fur-ever family will have love and patience for them as they figure out how to be the best house dogs (though they can sleep in a crate so they're getting close!) We think they'd thrive in a quieter home that had another dog or a home where they could be together. Let's bring some much needed sunshine to this boy's life! Adopt Ziggy today! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
