There was a brief, unfortunate nickname we no longer acknowledge (for curious minds: Munhall Psycho. which is retired, sealed, expunged from the record). Because she threw us a huge plot twist: everything we thought was absolutely untrue. AWOL is actually sweet, goofy, and deeply endearing. She's settled into rescue life like she finally realized she's safe. No more escape attempts, no more drama. Just vibes. She sings. (Maggie's words, not ours.) Pet her for a minute and she'll happily tell you exactly how much she's enjoying it. Loudly. With passion. She's expressive. She LOVES Cat TV. Like, full attention, front-row seat, no interruptions. And her favorite toy in the entire world? Perm rollers. Fancy taste. Icon behavior. She always sounds a little stuffy(?) We've tried everything. Multiple meds. All the things. At this point, we've accepted it's just part of her charm, you know, like that slightly raspy voice on someone you love. AWOL isn't a menace. She isn't a psycho. She's just a cat who needed time to decompress and show us who she really is. And who she really is happens to be seriously the best. Please adopt AWOL.
