About Tootsie
Tootsie—also known as Gumdrop—is pure, low-rider charisma with a contagious zest for life. At 4 years old and 22 pounds, she combines the sturdy charm of an English Bulldog with the playful spark of an American Bulldog, plus the kind of googly eyes that might be sizing up your snacks or searching your soul. She turns ordinary days electric: other dogs play harder when she's around, people lighten up, and the room's energy lifts by default. Tootsie throws herself into play with unfiltered glee—think affectionate full-body tackles, wild games of tug, and bouncing, tumbling chaos. Her happiness is indestructible and knowing her means you’re on Team Joy, whether you meant to sign up or not. As for friends, Tootsie’s made it clear: her best times involve at least one dog buddy to romp with. She’s not suited for solo gigs. Her legendary loyalty came through when her best friend Blake was sick—Tootsie waited and then zoomed in for a full-hearted celebration the moment they could play together again. Because of her background in kennels, Tootsie’s still perfecting potty training and might slip up, but she’s making steady progress and thrives on structure and patience. Tiny calluses on her legs and some quirky snack choices are part of the package. When walking, her feet sometimes drag, so a wagon or supportive shoes would help her keep up with the pack. Her ideal home? One with a playful dog who’s game to share life’s happiness, and humans ready for plenty of laughter and a little organized chaos. Tootsie is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She’s living her best foster life in Mesa, AZ—and your place might be the next stop. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
