About Marty
Marty is a sweet, spunky Lab/Border Collie mix looking for a stable place to land. At 3 years old and about 47 pounds, he came to North Central shelter after his previous owner moved and couldn’t keep him. Marty’s handled it better than most—greeting new people with warmth and keeping his friendly, easy-going nature. He’s gentle during dog play and well-mannered with handlers. Now in foster, Marty is house and crate trained, picking up the ropes of living in a home again. He’s working on leash skills and loves having other dogs around to play with, showing polite and balanced social cues. Every so often he’ll burst out in goofy zoomies, but most of the time, he’s a chill snugglebug content to curl up nearby. He already knows basic commands and aims to please. Marty has done well around cats, and he previously lived with children, so he’s a real candidate for families looking for a mellow but playful companion. His laid-back vibe would suit anyone seeking a calm dog to hang out at home or join occasional adventures. Marty’s ready for a fresh start with a loving home.
