About Roxy

Roxy’s story starts in the woods, where she survived alone and malnourished. Now at about 18 to 24 months old and around 50 lbs, she has blossomed from a shut-down, silent presence into a playful, chatty companion. There’s no clear answer on what breed she is—her history and appearance point to a true mix, but most lean toward an Australian Kelpie blend. Roxy is vetted, spayed, and up to date on flea and heartworm prevention. She’s still a work in progress when it comes to leash walking and house training. Her early hardship left her with food aggression (she feels safest eating in her crate) and some mild separation anxiety—she settles for a couple of hours alone but then longs for people. Roxy doesn’t get along with dogs or cats, so she needs a home where she’s the only pet. She wants a large yard to run and, more than anything, a devoted, patient person willing to help her build trust and joy. Roxy is in Arkansas but can be adopted locally or transported to New England, with pickup in PA, NY, or CT on a Saturday if needed. A new chapter is waiting for her with someone as committed as she is resilient. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
