Haze
AvailableHaze, a 4-year-old, 2-month-old neutered male mixed breed dog, sports a brown and chocolate coat and resides in Philadelphia, PA. He’s up to date on vaccinations and is well-behaved in the house. As a Pisces, Haze is known to be especially loving and intuitive. He’s a medium-sized adult looking for an active home where he can continue to thrive.
About Haze
Haze has settled nicely into foster care over the past six weeks, turning into a loving and steadfast companion. He’s thoroughly crate trained—happy to rest in his crate at home or in the car, although he’s much more interested in snuggling up with people if given the choice. Haze also does great in a crate at dog sports events, showing solid manners and an easygoing nature about settling in. His eagerness to learn stands out: Haze picks up on new commands quickly, being strongly motivated by both treats and praise. He already knows “sit” perfectly, is improving fast with “down,” “touch,” “drop,” and “come,” and his toy drive serves him well during training and play. This drive really shines in dog sports, especially dock diving—he’s advanced quickly and grown more confident every weekend. He’s also dabbled in Fast CAT and is close to his BCAT title. Swimming sessions during the week help keep him fit and happy. Around the house, Haze is a sweet, gentle presence—quiet, affectionate, and always up for a cuddle. He thrives on regular mental and physical engagement; without it, he’ll look for his own fun (and sometimes needs redirection from the wrong thing to chew, though he listens well). He’s playful with his foster sibling and enjoys those classic bursts of household zoomies. To set Haze up for success, he needs an active adopter who’ll commit to regular training and keep him occupied, preferably someone comfortable with high-drive dogs. He’s not a fit for homes with small children due to his sometimes exuberant toy play. Haze is a rewarding, driven dog who will shine with an experienced and engaged handler. What are you waiting for?
