About Rex
Meet Rex, often called the Squirrel Security Guard. Rex is a 7-year-old senior Labrador Retriever mix with a mellow side, ready to savor retirement. He prefers his adventures relaxed: lounging outdoors on pleasant days, chasing bumblebees with innocent curiosity, and moving his prized Nylabone from one hiding spot to the nextโalways thinking a step ahead of those cunning squirrels. When he's not patrolling for backyard invaders, Rex likes to take life at a slower pace, soaking up sunshine, snoozing in your bed, and quietly watching the world from a window. Rex isn't clingy, but he loves a cozy moment now and then. He'll happily accept pets and quietly appreciate shared downtime, without demanding constant attention. Walks in the neighborhood or trips to the forest preserve are always on the table if you're up for them. While he handles other calm dogs in stride, Rex isn't a match for playful puppies or homes with cats, and he sometimes greets other dogs with a little social awkwardness. He's learned a handful of cues like sit, stay, come, and "let's go!" His true pleasures? Tasty snacks, his beloved Nylabone, and a patch of green grass underfoot. Give Rex a backyard to patrol and soft bed to retire on, and you'll have his loyalty. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
