About Chewy
Chewy—also affectionately nicknamed Stanley Chewchi by his foster moms—carries himself with the spirit of a much younger dog. At an estimated 12 years old and just 8.5 lbs, this golden-coated Chihuahua doesn’t let age define his energy or love for life. Rehomed due to his previous owner’s medical situation, Chewy has seamlessly adapted to new routines and thrives in an environment where people and other pets are part of his daily mix. He excels in the car, walks politely on a leash, is crate-trained, and reliably house trained. Chewy easily befriends other dogs, confident cats, and children, making him a flexible companion. He's happiest when he’s snuggled under blankets—transforming nightly into a "doggy burrito." Chewy gravitates toward closeness and would fit best with someone who works from home, goes into the office, or simply enjoys having a pint-sized shadow tagging along throughout the day. At adoption, Chewy comes with his crate, bed, and a handful of essentials. He’s recently had a dental and bloodwork completed, so he's all set to settle into his new chapter. Ready to fall in love?
