You can try to resist this adorable little face, but why would you want to? Meet IRIS, a sweet, beautiful little beagle mix-type girl looking for a home. Iris is a gentle young soul, around 18 months old and fully grown at 26 pounds. Iris is a bit on the timid side and takes comfort in the companionship of other dogs. She came to us from a rural shelter with Ivy who we believe is her sister. We aren't sure what breeds make up the "mix" part of the beagle mix, but she has a medium length coat and her sister looks like she may be part Sheltie or Collie or Aussie. There are probably multiple breeds in the mix, but whatever she is she's a beauty. Iris is best suited to a home where she has another dog as a companion. You can meet Iris at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30-1:30 at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
