About Sue
In 1956 Buddy Holly and The Crickets introduced their song “Peggy Sue” to the world. The sweet lyrics and catchy tune made for a chart-topping hit: “Peggy Sue, Peggy Sue Oh how my heart yearns for you Oh Peggy, my Peggy Sue Oh well, I love you gal, yes, I love you Peggy Sue” Well, we’ve got our own beloved pup named Sue here in the shelter! Sue spent about a month in a foster home where she was a well- behaved, perfect houseguest. She is house and crate trained, walks well on leash, and is a super friendly gal who loves tummy rubs and chasing a ball. “Sue is a pleasant dog who likes her walks and likes to be near you. She is wonderful in the house and she's great on walks!” In another foster home of over five months Sue loved tummy rubs, was house trained, crate trained, and well- behaved when left home alone. She likes to chase a ball, and was described as friendly and polite. “Sue’s nickname should be Poppins as in Mary Poppins...practically perfect in every way. I don't know why she hasn't been scooped up sooner!” Here’s what Sue’s friends at the shelter have said: “Oh Sue, I love you! Sue is an incredibly affectionate, loving, sweetie sweetie sweetie middle-aged gal! She loves to be out in a play yard, running and playing with her kennel mate, but especially getting love from her volunteer friends. She's a beautiful gal who will climb up in your lap if you let her, but she's also content just to sit by your side and get pets.” “Sue is a friendly middle-aged gal who has SO MUCH love to give! She’s always so happy to see her volunteer friends in the morning and she greets us with her sweet waggy tail and big smile. Once in the play yard she loves to trot around the yard with her kennelmate before soliciting lots of love and attention from the handler in the yard. She’s a spry gal who loves attention and affection.” Sue shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been social and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She has some arthritis and is looking for a family who will continue her (affordable) supplement and medication regimen to keep her pain managed. Song lyrics may have been simpler back in the 50s, but we think they still ring true: “Peggy Sue, Peggy Sue Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty Peggy Sue Oh Peggy, my Peggy Sue Oh well, I love you gal and I need you Peggy Sue” Ask to meet Sue today!!
