Over the past two years, this magnificent girl has overcome hurdles that would stop anyone else in their tracks, including major leg and spinal surgeries, and even beating cancer. Through it all, her spirit never wavered. Today, she is the sweetest, most affectionate dog you will ever meet. She craves human touch and loves nothing more than pressing her big, gentle body right up against you while you sit, asking for pets and showering you with kisses. When it comes to other dogs, MAYA’s heart is just as big. She is incredibly dog-friendly and loves friends of all sizes—she even gets to hang out in the playgroup with the tiny dogs! She has such a zest for life that she sometimes forgets her own physical limitations. When she hangs out with her best buddies (like her pals Blu and Yam), they have to be closely monitored to make sure she takes it easy. Her absolute favorite way to play is simply rolling around on the ground, exchanging doggy kisses. Because of her extensive medical history, MAYA’s daily routine is all about the slow lane. Her walks are short and leisurely, with plenty of mandatory stops to just roll around in the cool grass.
