About Maya
Maya is a gentle giant with an incredible story. She has faced more than her share of hardship—major leg and spinal surgeries, cancer, and recovery over two years—but her spirit remains unshakable. Despite it all, Maya exudes warmth. Her favorite pastime is leaning in close for cuddles, soaking up affection, and giving out plenty of kisses in return. With other dogs, Maya is friendly and inclusive. She happily interacts with pups of every size and even joins the smaller dogs in playgroup. She especially loves rolling in the grass, swapping doggy kisses, and simply lounging in the yard soaking up the sun. Her physical history does mean her activity is limited, so walks are short and relaxed, and she needs to be monitored when excited. Maya's next home should match her special needs: a safe, controlled environment with people ready for both the emotional and financial commitment that may come with future medical care.
