Della is a beautiful little dog with a fox-like face and fluffy tail who is slowly learning that the world can be safe. After surviving on the Navajo Nation reservation with very little human contact, she arrived understandably fearful—but over the past two months in foster care she has been making steady, heartwarming progress. Della is crate trained, house trained, comfortable wearing a harness, rides well in the car, and takes medication easily (especially with peanut butter!). She is gentle by nature and, even when scared, chooses to hide or freeze rather than react aggressively—she has never tried to bite. Once she feels safe, Della is very affectionate and loves quiet companionship, walks, and cozy naps. She’s still gaining confidence around new dogs and unfamiliar situations, but improves with patience and routine. Della will thrive in a calm, patient home willing to let her blossom at her own pace.
