Our team can't emphasize enough how full of love this sweet, seven-year-old Cattle Dog mix is! Josie has stolen our hearts with her affectionate and calm personality. She loves to lay in the grass and soak up the sunshine, take slow walks with plenty of time to sniff and explore, play with toys, hang out with her human friends, and is food motivated (there's no treat left behind with this girl!) Josie knows "sit" and "down" and would love to learn more if treats are involved! A team member says, "Josie loves meeting new people - she rolls over for belly rubs and is just thrilled to be by your side. She is truly a sweetheart who will be a wonderful companion for someone!" Her foster person shares, " I might seem a little hyper and "antsy" here, but it's just that all the other dogs at the shelter get me a bit upset. I'd really like to be your only dog. At home I'm fairly mellow and would love to hang out on the couch with you and watch a movie, or chew on a bone while you work in the garden. Once it cools off in the evening I'd be happy to go on a walk around the neighborhood-AFTER dinner (I mean really, first things first!). I know I'm a little overweight, but the lady who fostered me the other week gave me the most delicious treats anyway: pieces of cucumber, strawberry tops, romaine lettuce ribs, and ice cubes! I think they were great and I hope you'll continue giving me these extra special treats even if the vet says I need to be on a diet. I'd be great for an older person who can handle a larger dog and doesn't travel much, or for a younger person who would rather craft and garden than hike or club. Likes: belly rubs, food, snuggles, food, bacon-flavored Nyla-Bones, food Dislikes: other dogs, car rides, people who won't stop to pet me Life Goals: to be your shadow....and maybe to steal that chicken breast off the counter."
