About Betty Lou

Meet Betty Lou 💕 Betty Lou is an approximately 10-year-old female spayed domestic medium hair with a heart as big as her love for cuddles. She was found outside and brought to safety, where it was discovered she was microchipped—but sadly, her previous owners did not respond or wish to have her returned. Now, Betty Lou is looking for a forever home that will truly cherish her. When she arrived, Betty Lou was struggling with painful urinary issues and was found urinating very small amounts with blood. She underwent surgery for a bladder stone and is now doing much better. To keep her healthy and comfortable, she will need to remain on a prescription urinary diet (both wet and dry food) for life. Betty Lou is believed to be deaf, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit. She adores being brushed, absolutely loves her wet food, and has a soft spot for floor scratchers. One of her favorite pastimes is drinking straight from the faucet—she knows what she likes! Most of all, Betty Lou loves being close to her people. She enjoys sitting in laps, soaking up hugs and kisses, and being the center of attention. She is not cat-friendly and would do best as the only pet in the home. Betty Lou is happiest and most relaxed when she doesn’t have to share her space. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than love, comfort, and a warm lap to call her own, Betty Lou may be the perfect match for you. 🐾💖 Betty Lou has had all age appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed with a general dewormer, has been spayed, microchipped, received monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and tested negative for FeLV virus. We do recommend rechecking a fecal within 48 hours after you take any cat home, covered by us. If she is positive for any parasites, we will get you a dewormer recommended by your vet at no extra cost. Adoption fee is $100. We take check, card, and cash. You will receive a copy of the microchip form when you bring her home, and we will register it for you! In the first week, we would like to check the account to make sure we did not make any errors. After that, it will be your responsibility to keep the information accurate and up to date. This is a lifelong enrollment, and you will not have to pay towards it again. The microchip sits under the skin, between the shoulder blades. Your username will be your email address, so you will be required to have one. Once you logon to petlink.net, you can change the password to whatever you would like. You will also receive a copy of your adoption contract, signed by you and a Pawsitive Cause board member. This contract will go over that our cats are seen by a veterinarian, have received vet care, and had their hearts listened to, but we cannot guarantee the health of any animal. You will also receive a hand out about Upper Respiratory Infection in cats, as many animals in rescues and shelters have been previously exposed to this illness. Even if they are not showing signs of URI, the change or stress of going home can bring those symptoms on, which is why we send you home with the hand out. We will go over a checklist to make sure that we did not miss anything. You will receive a copy of this as well. We have asked our fosters to bring some food for you to take home to transition on to what you would like them to eat. We have always offered both wet and dry food. Betty Lou is using litter boxes great. However, we recommend starting her out in a room with a litter box, and open more and more of the house at a time. Do not move the litter box a lot! This also helps with introductions to other animals. You should always do slow introductions under a door with a few days of no sight. Once all of the animals are calm and used to the new noises and smells, you can start offering treats at the door to both animals, then open the door and start letting them slowly mingle. Lastly, you will receive a paper copy or email copy of all medical records we have on file. We would love it if you continued your vet care with us at Pawsitive Care, but we understand if you have a vet you love! We will try to make this transition as easy as possible.
