Beautiful Bijou has been in foster care since April 2025, arriving while heavily pregnant and bravely raising five kittens—two of whom (Katmai and Denali) are still looking for homes. Bijou is making quiet but steady progress. She’s not comfortable with being touched just yet, but she never shows aggression and never hisses. Her curiosity shines through during playtime with favorite wand toys and her ball track, and she’ll stand right on a lap (as long as there's a treat involved). Bijou gets along with other cats but usually prefers to focus on her toys. She moves with calm confidence and enjoys exploring when she feels safe. Recently, she's ventured out to explore the house and handles the extra space well, only retreating if startled by a sudden noise or a surprise meeting with resident cat Josie. Bijou is a striking, playful cat who will do best with a patient person willing to give her plenty of interactive play and personal space. A quieter home (and fewer cats) would help her continue to open up, but she’s shown she can co-exist peacefully with others. Based on her history, she's about three years old, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. Bijou must be kept strictly indoors.
