Meet Jackson - Big Smile, Bigger Heart Jackson is a 51⁄2-year-old red nose Pit Bull Terrier mix with a playful spirit and a whole lot of love to give. He's the kind of dog who makes fast friends--especially if you come bearing treats! Jackson typically warms up to new people right away and has previously lived successfully with children. He enjoys meeting other dogs and generally does so appropriately. He loves to play, though his style can be a bit rough and tumble, so he'd do best with another confident, sturdy dog who enjoys that kind of fun. While he has seen cats before and hasn't chased them, he hasn't lived with one, so slow introductions would be important. Small animals, however, are very tempting to him--he does have a prey drive and has caught birds, squirrels, and rats in the past. Jackson is house trained and knows how to relax at home, but he can get a little mischievous when left alone for long periods. Remotes, blankets, and other tempting household items may become chew toys if not put away. He's also proven to be quite the escape artist, having broken out of both plastic and metal kennels, so he'll need a secure setup and a family committed to providing structure and supervision. Jackson is a sweet, affectionate, fun-loving dog who thrives on attention and engagement. With clear boundaries, enrichment, and an active home that understands his strength and playful personality, he'll be an incredibly loyal and entertaining companion.
