Meet Junebug (affectionately known as "Juniper Bugingham," courtesy of the kids ) Junebug is a 2.5-year-old medium-sized spunky girl (about 35 lbs, born November 2023) with a big personality packed into an athletic Rottie mix body. She's sweet, sassy, and absolutely convinced she's royalty. We believe her littermates' DNA included German Shepherd, Pit Bull, Lab, Chow, and a sprinkle of "super mutt" magic - and it shows in her intelligence, drive, and versatility. Personality & Temperament Junebug is much more of a people-person than a dog's dog. She's incredibly smart and will absolutely test you at first - but once she decides you're a worthy leader, she's loyal and responsive. She knows basic commands like sit, lay down, and off (very helpful when she's climbed somewhere she shouldn't have!). She would benefit from a refresher in consistent training. She is the self-appointed instigator of household shenanigans and tends to rile everyone up for fun. High-energy and full of personality, she thrives when she has structure and an outlet. Activity Level This girl is athletic. Climbs 7+ foot fences Fast runner Incredible jumper Has caught squirrels mid-chase She would have been an amazing agility prospect and would love an active home that can run with her or provide a secure space where she can safely burn energy. Other Animals Junebug is selective about her dog friends. She currently lives successfully with two larger dogs and can get along with other dogs she approves of - especially those that are older, larger, and more dominant. She is not safe with cats or small animals due to her very high prey drive. Training & Home Life Crate trained (will only eat in her crate) Should not be left unattended outside of her crate Does okay on leash; does best with a pinch collar Loves chew toys Known to pull rugs, towels, and blankets into her crate Will work for treats but isn't overly food motivated Ideal Home Junebug's perfect match would be: An active individual or family No cats or small animals No young children Willing to use a crate or safe space when unsupervised Comfortable providing firm, consistent leadership She would likely thrive as an only pet or with the right larger, confident dog companion.
