About Jolene

Jolene, named after the famous Dolly Parton song, has a knack for making an entrance. She’s a 2-year-old grey tabby who carved out her place among the local stray cats on a rural property in Lyle before being brought in from the elements. Jolene’s raised two litters outdoors, fiercely protective when needed, but mostly content to share space with the other cats. Since moving indoors with her foster mom, she’s made it clear—she has no interest in going back outside. Food is a big motivator for Jolene. She’ll rub against your legs, leap onto your lap, or post up at your feet when treats are near. She likes being petted (though skip the top of her head if possible) and tolerates being held, even if she’s not quite a fan—yet. Jolene is an enthusiastic player with catnip bananas, jingly wand toys, and loves kicking or chewing on plush toys. She’s also serious about her lounging: straw mats, cat trees, windowsills, and couches are her favorite spots. Jolene gets along well with other cats and would especially like to stay with her daughter Kitten, so chat with the counselor if you might consider both. She does have some special needs that can be discussed with the adoption team. For now, Jolene remains in her foster home and meetings are set up by contacting the shelter directly.
