About 4 years old. Hammy is the more timid of the sibling pair, but once he feels safe, his gentle personality really shines. It took about a week in foster care for him to gain the confidence to come out, but now he is very friendly and calm. He allows his foster to pick him up and pet him and has a quiet, chill presence about him. He is a bit more independent than his sister, Chicken, and may even seek out more one-on-one attention if he were in a home without her. Hammy would likely do best in a quiet home with one or two adults. We do not feel he would do well with other animals or with children younger than teens. Hammy was adopted as a kitten with his sister and spent nearly three years in a loving home. Sadly, their owner passed away and the family returned them. They were described as a bonded pair, but in foster care they tend to be independent and do not rely on one another for comfort, so they do not necessarily have to be adopted together.
