Hachiya has been thriving in her foster home. She has made big strides on walks and is no longer completely terrified when people pass by. She’s very treat-motivated, which has been a huge help in building her confidence. While she’s still a shy girl, she is incredibly sweet and thrives with a patient, understanding person who is willing to earn her trust at her pace. She absolutely adores her 14-year-old Chihuahua foster sibling, and the two enjoy daily play sessions in the yard. Despite the size difference, Hachiya has learned how to play gently and appropriately with smaller dogs. As she’s grown more comfortable, her personality has really come out—she’s much more active than when she first arrived and loves to run and burn off energy. Loud noises and large objects can still be scary for her, so she’ll do best in a calm, supportive home that’s prepared to meet her where she is and continue building her confidence. Hachiya is fully potty-trained, dog-friendly, and already knows several commands, including sit, lay down, belly, and wait. She’s a loving, sensitive girl who will make a deeply rewarding companion for the right home willing to offer patience, consistency, and kindness.
