Meet our sweet Princess. 💔 Princess is a young Chow mix, estimated to be just 1–2 years old — still a baby herself. Yet when she was surrendered to a rural Georgia shelter, she wasn’t alone. She arrived carrying the weight of motherhood, bringing her 7 tiny babies with her. When Princess first entered the shelter, she weighed 56 pounds. Just a few short weeks later, by the time she made it to our rescue, she had dropped to only 45 pounds. Eleven pounds gone. You could see it in her frail body, in the way her bones showed through her coat. She had given everything she had to keep her babies alive… and there was nothing left for herself. No young dog should ever have to wither away like that. And yet — despite whatever she’s endured — Princess is one of the gentlest, sweetest souls we have ever saved. She tolerates everyone and everything with quiet grace. She leans into affection like she’s been waiting her whole life to feel safe. It’s painfully obvious that love and kindness are new to her… and she is so deeply grateful for even the smallest touch. Princess deserved so much better from the start. Unfortunately, she is heartworm positive and will need an adopter committed to bringing her to our clinic for treatment (at the rescue’s expense). She has fought so hard already — she just needs someone willing to stand beside her while she heals.
