Meet Mia — the gentle 1-year-old shepherd mama of our “T” litter puppies! Mia is a sweet but shy dog who takes time to warm up to new people. Once comfortable, she is very affectionate and bonds closely with adults. She loves giving “hugs”. She follows basic commands and is house-trained when given regular potty breaks. She walks very well on leash and does not pull, preferring to stay close to her person. She enjoys lounging on the couch, spending time outside, and does very well with other dogs, often barking gently to initiate play. She loves having a playmate! Mia prefers a calm, predictable environment. She forms strong attachments and experiences anxiety when left alone for extended periods, which can result in howling, pacing, or chewing. For short absences, she feels most comfortable in a crate. A home where someone is present most of the time would be ideal. She would also do best in an adult-only home without children. She does great in the yard, takes her time coming when called, and is learning at her own sweet pace. With patience and love, she's going to blossom beautifully.
